Founder and owner of SA Mobile Drug Testing (SAMDT), Eugene Du Plessis, thrives on finding creative business solutions.

Besides building SAMDT into a leader in the field, Eugene still manages to work as the South African manager for four global toxicology laboratories and companies, providing drug and alcohol collection services on maritime bulk vessels and oil tankers visiting major South Africa ports.

SAMDT provides the corporate, financial, business, IT, industrial, hospitality, engineering and manufacturing sectors with a much-needed drug & alcohol testing service.

Previously, Eugene, was general manager at call centre 121 Outsource, where he used his considerable marketing and sales expertise to run the outsourced customer service divisions of major blue chip FMCG companies, Pioneer Foods, Premier Foods, KFC, Simba, Parmalat, Heinz, King Pie, Nulaid, He also successfully built outbound campaigns at the centre and had the foresight to design social media platforms for use in customer care for the clients’ emerging African and Middle East markets. He also spearheaded the design and launch of the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) complaints line at the call centre.

Unphased by changing times in global markets, Eugene has reinvented himself as a social media marketing specialist and continues to be amazed by how he can use information technology to not only grow his business but to be able to reach out to his community by providing a vital service and to be able to pass on expertise to others.
