OWNER
Founder and owner of SA Mobile Drug Testing (SAMDT), Eugene Du Plessis, thrives on finding creative business solutions.
Besides building SAMDT into a leader in the field, Eugene still manages to work as the South African manager for four global toxicology laboratories and companies, providing drug and alcohol collection services on maritime bulk vessels and oil tankers visiting major South Africa ports.
SAMDT provides the corporate, financial, business, IT, industrial, hospitality, engineering and manufacturing sectors with a much-needed drug & alcohol testing service.
Previously, Eugene, was general manager at call centre 121 Outsource, where he used his considerable marketing and sales expertise to run the outsourced customer service divisions of major blue chip FMCG companies, Pioneer Foods, Premier Foods, KFC, Simba, Parmalat, Heinz, King Pie, Nulaid, He also successfully built outbound campaigns at the centre and had the foresight to design social media platforms for use in customer care for the clients’ emerging African and Middle East markets. He also spearheaded the design and launch of the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) complaints line at the call centre.
Unphased by changing times in global markets, Eugene has reinvented himself as a social media marketing specialist and continues to be amazed by how he can use information technology to not only grow his business but to be able to reach out to his community by providing a vital service and to be able to pass on expertise to others.
DAPHNE BRADBURY
POLICY & COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST
From 2000 to 2007 Daphne Bradbury was CEO of the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport (SAIDS). She is an acknowledged international expert on drug testing policy, and testing standards and procedures. She was also a member of The IADA International Project Team, The International Review Panel for International Anti-Doping Code Standards and Testing Procedures and The Management Working Committee of the International Association of National Anti-Doping Organizations (ANADO) responsible for doping control and drug testing services, representing Organizations from over 50 countries worldwide. From 2009 until 2013 she was Project Co-Ordinator and Consultant for Africa for IDTM, the largest independent anti-doping organization in the world. Currently she consults to organizations and mines in respect of the development and implementation of drug testing policy, systems, practice and procedures. She is a member of the Western Cape Sports Mediation and Arbitration Forum.
